What happens to the volume of the syringe as the set of weights is added on top of it?

Good Day....

The volume of syringe decreases making the gas particles closer to one another or being compressed. Gas particle have a property known as compressibility.

Gas particle are far away from one another unlike solid which is very intact and liquid which is a little bit closer to one another. Gas particle are spread apart because it has higher kinetic energy compared to solid and liquid. Since gas particle are spread apart, we can compressed it by reducing its volume. Reducing the volume or compressing the particle of gas inside the container, increases the pressure which is illustrated in Boyles Law. Boyles Law states that, the relationship between volume and pressure is inversely proportional when the amount of gas and temperature are constant.

Hope it helps...=)
